Christmas flowers that create a festive atmosphere
Create a festive atmosphere at home with Christmas flowers. Our desire for traditions and colors at Christmas is likely one of the reasons why the "classic" Christmas flowers are still just as popular.
During Advent, we decorate our homes even more to create warmth and Christmas peace. We light up rooms and windows with Advent stars and candle holders. We place gnomes in every nook and cranny, and, most importantly, we use flowers and greenery to capture the true Christmas feeling.
Popular Christmas flowers
Among Christmas flowers, the Christmas begonia (also known as “juleglede”) may be the one that has been around the longest—it was already popular in the 1920s. Hyacinth, amaryllis, and poinsettia—our top three popular Christmas flowers—have also been staples for many years. New varieties and colors emerge and are swapped out to keep up with trends and developments. However, the classic varieties remain the most traditional Christmas flowers we have.
Christmas centerpiece for the dining table
A group on the dining table will be nice and highlight the flowers a little extra. To enhance the Christmas feeling, you can lay out spruce branches as a table runner. Place many tea light holders around the centerpiece, and then the Christmas spirit is a fact. Just remember to always keep an eye on lit candles!
A Beautiful Bouquet for the Living Room
Together with advent candlesticks or stars, you can go for a more daring bouquet in the living room that will surely attract attention. Mix, for example, cut hyacinth, tulips, ranunculus, eucalyptus, and skimmia in pink, dark red, and gray tones. Arrange the stems of the flowers in a spiral and tie them together. Alternatively, buy a ready-made bouquet and place it in a chic vase. Remember to replenish fresh water every few days to keep the flowers lasting longer. Place some tall vases and lanterns with candles around the room for some extra Christmas coziness.
A Fragrant Branch in the Bathroom
A flower branch and lit candles in the bathroom give a sense of extra luxury. Choose, for example, a rose, hyacinth, or tulip, and place it in a tall narrow vase. A candle with Christmas scents spreads a feeling of well-being.
