Vitamin C-rich annual mache salad is a highlight of the salad. Dark green, crispy leaves with mild flavor. Cultivation: Sow indoors Feb-March, or direct sow in June-July for fall harvest or Sep-Oct for early spring harvest. Seedlings for overwintering tacks well. Can be pot-grown indoors all year round for harvesting of later leaves. Plant out when soil maintains a temp of 10-15 degrees. Wants consistent supply of fertilizer and water.
