The variety produces full, peony-like, 10 cm flowers in white, yellow, pink and dark red. Normally flowers the year after sowing, but can flower the same year if sown early (is then a 1-year-old). Perenniality can be stimulated by cutting off the flower stalk before the last flower withers. Soak the seeds for 24 hours before sowing to speed up germination. Thrives in nutrient-rich soil that retains moisture.
