Almond is a late, floury specialty potato known for its excellent taste and very good storage properties. This popular potato has an oblong shape with a light brown to yellow skin and a characteristic little bend in the middle. Although the almond potato is vulnerable to dry rot, it thrives above 400 meters above sea level or in the lowlands of northern Norway, where the fungus does not develop as easily.
