An ancient crop that was cultivated as early as the Middle Ages. The leaves of this succulent plant are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin E. The mildly acidic leaves are used like spinach, in soups or salads. Can be frozen. Pick leaves and tender stems as you go. Leave a few leaves at the base of the plant and it will continue to grow. Thrives best in nutrient-rich, moldy and porous soil in warm locations. Add nutrients in the middle of summer. Keep the soil moist.
