Buy the pot that the soil eats up
Now you can buy plants in a biodegradable pot! Plant the plant together with the pot in the garden, and the pot will disappear completely in six months! In the meantime, it protects the plant's roots and gives the plant time to get used to its new environment.

Plastic pots have a new challenger – Plantasjen is now investing in an environmentally friendly biopot, which breaks down in the soil. The advantages are many: we reduce plastic use and plastic waste, and you can plant the pot directly in the soil together with the plant, which both saves time and gives the plant good conditions to establish itself in its new growing location. In addition, the pot makes another contribution to the climate – it is made from something that until now has only been thrown away.
Recycling sunflower husks
The German company Golden Compound has discovered a way to use the shells of sunflower seeds, which are a waste product from the production of sunflower oil and sunflower seeds. Every year, six million tons of shells are thrown away. Now some of them are being transformed into biodegradable pots instead. In addition to the sunflower shells, the pots contain stone flour and cornstarch. There is not a trace of microplastics!
Can be put in the compost
The decomposition process is fixed by nature itself with microbacteria in the soil, oxygen and water. The pot can therefore also be put in the compost at home, no high temperatures are needed to break it down, as in industrial composting. The process takes different lengths of time depending on the conditions at the site, for example, the pot breaks down faster in warmer soil than in colder soil.
Available with different plants
Do you want to do something for the environment and save time when planting seasonal plants? Look for the innovative All Nature pot in Plantagen's stores. By 2025, there will be 2.3 million biopots in stores, which together make up 20 percent of the range of seasonal potted plants. Some plants are sold this year in both plastic pots and in the biodegradable All Nature pot, so look at the pot label to get the pot you want. You will find the All Nature pot together with strawberries and other seasonal plants, among other things.

How to use the All Nature pot
- Place the plant directly in the soil with the bio-pot on
- If the pot has not started to rot, it can be broken into pieces when planting, so that the roots come out more easily
- Note that the soil dries out a little faster in bio-pots than in plastic pots, so it is important to water the plants more often
- If you do not bury the pot in the soil or put it in the compost at home, you can sort it as food waste (not plastic!)
